Beekeeping is not easy, but if you get hooked. Or you hate it.
It is a way of beeing, my apprentice.
You will be stung. Not maybe the first day. Or the 3rd visit. Or until you harvest honey. It's a given. But this is part of the thrill. Part of the cycle of working with nature and her hand maidens.
I started out with little to no knowledge. I had no bees. I was still learning about what keeping bees meant after having bought hives, some Langstroth and some Jackson type of hives. It was a roller coaster of steep learning, of reading the Blue book, meeting with a nearby beekeeper and trial and error.
Don't make the mistake I did trying to grow my knowledge over years which cost me time, honey and money!!!
I lost bees. I caught some more. I removed some not knowing what the hell I was in for when I agreed to try...
I wished there was another way to fast track the doing of beekeeping - a way to kick start my learning while delving into my new found passion.
I wish I could find some apprenticeship or online bee course with tips, videos, material and bee farming PDF that I would dive into...
Immerse myself.
I knew that that was the only way... Now I am 16 years down the line. Still a student. No longer an apprentice. I am a Master.
Join me in the buzz side. And see for yourself the wonders of the hive!
